The Local Government Board has approved the signing of a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes.
The purpose of this agreement is the promotion of quality in the care of people diagnosed with rare or infrequent diseases.
Being objective of this City Council to cooperate in improving the quality of life and well-being of people with rare diseases, the City of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Social Services and other specific care programs, such as the Early Care Center, has been developing various care actions for people with disabilities, among which you can find people diagnosed with rare or rare diseases, among which are:
Early care in the following areas:
o Information, guidance and social support to the family unit.
o Psychological care service, cognitive stimulation and speech therapy for children from 0 to 6 years old.
o Physiotherapy Service, for children from 0 to 6 years old.
o Coordination with Nursery Schools, Child Care Centers and Early Childhood Education Colleges to follow up on cases and technical advice.

The Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes is a non-profit organization, established in 2008, which has an early care center, with 15 free places for children with developmental disorders or risk of developing them.
Likewise, D'Genes has in Alhama de Murcia, a delegation with a portfolio of services for children with rare diseases and people without diagnosis.
That is why we proceeded to sign this collaboration agreement on April 2, signed by the mayor of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, and the president of D'Genes, Juan Carrión, with the aim of formalizing and improving channels of existing coordination, to favor the sanitary, psychological, pedagogical and social support to the people affected by rare diseases and their relatives, by promoting activities and actions aimed at improving the quality of life of this group, and specifically those early care users.
