ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN has recently carried out an emergency drill that has allowed it to evaluate the implementation of the Internal Emergency Plan and the management capacity before the hypothesis of an ammonia leak in a machine room of the Loncheado Center and York, in its facilities of Alhama de Murcia.
The assumption raised is associated with a category 1 accident which, due to the toxic and flammable nature of the product, has led the 1st intervention team of ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN to act immediately for its rapid and effective containment.
This action, included in the Continuous Training Plan of the company, aims to verify the effectiveness of the safety systems used and the established internal protocols for action and communication, in order to guarantee that a possible accident is resolved with the minimum possible damages.
The exercise has been supervised by the General Directorate of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
In addition, in the training of personnel have participated members of a formative entity of first national level and more than 20 people from different areas.
Its execution has allowed to verify the suitability of the security systems implemented, as well as the efficiency of the human team that makes up the emergency group of the company.
The drill is part of the training actions on the management of industrial safety, which is encompassed in a set of both theoretical and practical actions developed by ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN to guarantee the safety of workers, facilities and the protection of the environment.
