The Local Government Board has approved the call for subsidies in the field of environment for research and development projects, dissemination and environmental awareness and promotion of solidarity activities in the natural or rural environment.
In addition, as a novelty for this year, projects have been incorporated to address and improve animal welfare, the conservation and maintenance of trees and unique trees and the acquisition of electric bicycles in the family.
With this call the City Council of Alhama wants to favor all those actions oriented to study or recover ecosystems, habitats or species.
It also seeks to support those entities that want to favor or correct certain human actions that may influence, both positively and negatively, the conservation of all natural resources present in any of the municipal estates of environmental interest and their surroundings.
But also, these aids seek to enhance intervention in issues such as the fight against climate change or environmental awareness and dissemination on issues both linked to the management of natural resources and such urban issues as sustainable mobility, energy efficiency or the promotion of solidarity and social responsibility among people and natural resources as well.
Among the innovations incorporated this year is the conservation of trees and unique trees distributed throughout the municipal territory, especially those that are located on private property.
Its cataloging requires an adequate management and maintenance to ensure its conservation, something that can not always be done by the owners alone.
Also among the novelties is the collaboration with organizations concerned with the welfare of pets, a line of work that this City Council has been intensifying in recent years.
The latest innovation of 2019 is the financing of the acquisition of electric bicycle.
It is a measure aimed at favoring in the family environment the urban use of more ecological means of transport and committed to sustainable mobility.
It is about creating new habits of travel around the city and its closest environment avoiding the use of motor vehicles through the consumption of fossil fuels and their consequent polluting emissions.
It is also about contributing to create a more welcoming city, with a more peaceful traffic.
For the five blocks of projects the City Council has planned the granting of grants of up to € 500 per project, while for the purchase of electric bicycles it has been planned to subsidize 30% of its amount up to a maximum of € 300 per machine.
The total amount allocated in the municipal budget of 2019 for all these programs is € 18,000.
The application deadline for grants is already open and will be extended until September 30, 2019.
All the requirements to access these grants are published in the rules of the call, which can be viewed on the municipal website, in the section 'Terms of calls, awards and grants', as well as in the national database of grants (BDNS) with the code 455847.
