Three of the main works that are being carried out in Alhama this summer face its final stretch:
Acequia Espuña Street
In this way all the services have been renewed: drinking water networks, sanitation and electrical network.
The main novelty is that it has been modified to make it a single platform, guaranteeing the accessibility of neighbors to homes and garages, giving priority to people with reduced mobility (PMR).
In addition, it will have wider sidewalks, close to two meters, with a cobblestone finish and the road for vehicles will be agglomerate.
The slope has been established in the center of the road, so scuppers have been installed along the same for rainwater collection.
The bid price for this action is 135,776 euros including VAT.
Its completion is scheduled for early August.
Los Pasos Street
As in the previous one, the replacement of the old drinking water and sanitation networks, as well as the electricity network, has also taken place here.
It will become a unique platform, guaranteeing access and prioritizing the passage of people with reduced mobility.
The sidewalks double their width, being greater than two meters, finished in cobblestone, and the firm for agglomerate vehicles.
This action includes the remodeling of the parking lot of the supply market, through a new distribution to optimize parking and the passage of vehicles.
The slope will also be located in the center of the road, with scuppers for rainwater collection.
It is expected to be completed during the month of August.
Cartagena Avenue
In addition to the renovation of the supply and sanitation pipes, the electrical network has been replaced and the natural gas pipelines have been made.
As in the two previous cases, the priority of this route will be the people, with special attention to the PRM.
The avenue will go from having narrow sidewalks, in which barely passed a baby cart, to have more than two and a half meters of sidewalk, covered with natural stone, the same one that is being placed in the Avenue Alfonso X El Sabio de Murcia and that in Alhama is already in the area of ​​the Garden of Los Patos.
The vial for the vehicles will consist of a double layer of agglomerate, establishing the descending single direction from Juan Carlos I avenue and in both directions until the Severo Ochoa street.
With this action Cartagena Avenue will become one of the main roads of Alhama, increasing the prominence of local businesses that are in it.
When the works are finished, the Severo Ochoa car park (in front of the Laborer's Instructional Circle), partially occupied with construction materials, will be available in full for residents and visitors 24 hours a day.

When included in the same action, the bid price of the street Los Pasos + avenida Cartagena is 256,568 euros, VAT included.
The latter could be completed by the end of August.
The Councilor for Infrastructures and Public Services, Antonio García, stressed the importance of the work that is being carried out.
"We know that the works generate noise, dust and inconvenience to neighbors, especially those who have a business, I want to apologize for this and for the delays that occur, when you open a street sometimes you do not know what you're going to These three works will be finished, if all goes well, in the month of August, and both neighbors and businesses will have more modern and functional spaces, "he says.
