The Energy Efficiency area continues the renewal of public lighting through the installation of new LED-type light-emitting diodes ('light-emitting diode'), which has been carrying out different streets of the town center and districts since 2017.
Of the total of luminaries of the municipality, about 4,500, it has already acted on more than 40% of them, of mercury vapor of 125 watts and sodium vapor of 100 and 150 watts ferromagnetic reactance.
These are being replaced by latest technology LED devices of different power, depending on the height of the lamppost and the characteristics of the track: those that are 5 meters are being changed by luminaires of 31 watts, those of 7 meters by 55 watts and 9 meters by 70 watts.
The new luminaires incorporate regulated LEDs, which progressively reduce the luminous flux by up to 50% during the early morning, when there is less use of public roads.
The new lighting has a color temperature of 4,000 degrees Kelvin, in addition to low light pollution.
Through the new contract for the improvement of public lighting, which amounts to 240,000 euros, some 700 LED luminaires have been installed in the following areas:
- Neighborhood of the Philippines

The Consistory is in the bidding phase of a new project to continue the renewal of points of light in other areas of the urban area and districts, within its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda:
No. 7. Affordable and non-polluting energy
