This Saturday, January 18, about 40 people from all over the Region of Murcia belonging to the National Prostate Cancer Association (ANCAP), will visit the most emblematic places of the town, such as the castle, the archaeological museum Los Baños and the old town
The meeting place will be the door of the Town Hall and the visit will be guided by the chronicler of the town, José Baños.
The initiative starts with the members of the association, who intend, in this way, to give greater visibility to this entity in the municipalities of which they are native.
At 13:00 the mayor of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, will receive this group of people in the vaulted room of the Los Baños museum, where she will give them a gift.
What is the ANCAP?
It is an association that helps, supports and collaborates with men suffering from prostate cancer.
It is born taking into account the particular difficulty that the male gender has to express feelings, especially of weakness and personal impairment.
Prostate cancer, despite the decline in mortality in Spain, 5,500 men die each year as a result of this tumor, representing 2.8% of the total deaths recorded in the Spanish male population.
Every year more than 25,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed in our country and 899,000 cases are diagnosed every year in the world.
The objectives of this association are to make the male population aware of the importance of the early diagnosis of this disease, to improve the quality of life of those affected, so that patients can access the most up-to-date information about their disease, to inform about the possible financial aids that They can be provided by the different agencies of the Administration among others.
