Ifema hosts this week a new edition of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2020).
This Thursday, the Councilor for Tourism, Leticia Pareja, have traveled to Madrid, together with the mayor Eva Sánchez and Antonio Espinosa, and the area technician.
Alhama de Murcia once again has its own space within this event through the Tourist Association of Sierra Espuña, which is promoted at the stand of the Region of Murcia (Hall 7) along with other national and international tourism proposals for professionals of the sector and visitors.
This Wednesday was the promotion of the 'Espusendas' initiative, which was presented last November 8 in Aledo, after the Local Government Board of the Tourist Association of Sierra Espuña.
With this project, we seek to promote hiking through different routes within the natural environment of the Sierra Espuña park.
This afternoon, the Alhamanian delegation attended the delivery of the IX European Destination of Excellence Awards (EDEN): Health and Welfare Tourism, awarded by the European Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
The winner has been the Ambroz Valley (Cáceres, Extremadura).
The objective of this project is to attract attention to the value and diversity of European destinations and to raise awareness of those emerging destinations in which sustainable tourism initiatives are being developed.
The prize has been presented by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Bel Oliver, with whom the councilors of the City Council of Alhama have had a conversation about tourism in our town.
During this visit they have also been able to greet the Minister of Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos, the Secretary of State of this ministry, the Murcian Pedro Saura, as well as the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, the Delegate of Government of the Region, Francisco Jímenez, and various mayors and authorities.
On the other hand, the Tourist Office of Alhama has renewed once again the 'Q' of tourist quality, granted by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE).
This certificate is valid for three years and annually passes a review in accordance with the standard, UNE-ISO 14785: 2015 in the case of tourist offices.
The main objective of this certificate is to achieve customer satisfaction through the services provided or the products offered as well as bet on continuous improvement to always offer the best services and reliability to ensure tourists and visitors the best experience possible.
The tourist office of Alhama holds this quality certificate since 2010.
The trip has meant a cost for the municipal coffers of € 9.50 in concept of diets of the Tourist Development Agent.
