The mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, and the president of the Virgin Brotherhood of La Candelaria of the municipality, Josefa Muñoz, today signed an agreement, the first between both parties, to collaborate in the events of the celebration of the festival of The Candelaria 2020, which will take place on February 1 and 2.
Through the agreement, the City Council formalizes its commitment to perform various actions by the municipal brigades, such as the installation of chemical toilets, boundary perimeter fencing, plumbing, signage, lighting and sound, among others.
It also includes the conditioning by the cleaning services of the hermitage area and the path of the pilgrimage (before and after), as well as the provision of containers.
The agreement also includes the accompaniment, signaling and control of traffic by the Local Police.
In addition to the contracting by the City Council of inflatables for children, giant paella, rockets and freckles, as well as flowers for the throne of La Candelaria.
For its part, the Brotherhood is responsible for the realization and organization of the program of acts and activities, such as religious offices, pilgrimage, attention to employees, musical groups and supervision of party spaces.
The day of February 2 will feature a bar service that will be placed in front of the hermitage of La Candelaria, in charge of the Brotherhood, whose benefits will be allocated to the social work carried out and the development and cost of the acts scheduled for this holiday and throughout the year in Alhama de Murcia.
The contract is valid until December 31, 2020.
