This morning, the Councilor for the Environment, Antonio Espinosa, presented, together with the technician Manuel Águila, the Sendalhama 2020 program, which this year marks its 10th anniversary.
To celebrate those ten years, the last two routes will be made outside the Region of Murcia on October 24 (RÃO SEGURA 1 - BIRTH) and November 8 (RÃO SEGURA 2 -DESEMBOCADURA).
As in previous editions, the registration period will open in lots of two routes, except the last one before the summer and the first one immediately after.
The first one will be on Sunday, February 16, corresponding to the route 'Sierra Espuña 1', and the registration period begins on Tuesday, February 4.
Registration can be done at the tourist office from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The amount, symbolic, for each hiker over 10 years old who enrolls will be 3 euros.
The number of places ranges between 70 and 75 walkers, with the aim of improving the safety of the participants and the quality of the activity.
The organization accepts the registration of another 3 people for each one that goes to the tourist office, as long as it carries the complete data of those who will register: name, surname, ID, age, contact telephone number and email address .
It is mandatory to go to the tourist office with the exact amount for each route and person who signs up, as it will be at that time when it is picked up.
One more year, the organization will have the support of Civil Protection volunteers to ensure the safety of the participants.
The routes of SENDALHAMA 2020 are the following:
February 16: SIERRA ESPUÑA 1. Abuznel.
Forests, calares and stories of the southern slope of Espuña.
March 29: LA MUELA-CABO TIÑOSO.
Cala de Boletes, intricate coast guarded by police.
April 26: SIERRA ESPUÑA 2. Ascent to Cairel, the great viewpoint over the Pliego Valley.
May 24: SIERRA DE PEÑARRUBIA.
The Lover's Eyebrow, refuge of impossible love.
June 14: NORTHWEST.
Peña Jarota, summit and site on the border with Albacete.
September 19: LA MUELA DE ALHAMA.
The Big Pine, relic of the old forest.
October 24: SAFE RIVER 1. Birth of the Segura (Pontones).
The magic of a deep upwelling.
November 8: SAFE RIVER 2. Mouth of the Segura.
A large forest on the dunes of Guardamar.
Requirements to participate in Sendalhama 2020:
HABIT OF WALKING.
In general, the routes we propose do not harbor great complexity, but require a habit of walking on dirt roads and paths, sometimes with important slopes.
DATES AND PLACE OF REGISTRATION.
The opening of the registration period WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THIS POSTER, in the MUNICIPAL WEB and in the SOCIAL NETWORKS.
The place of registration will be the Municipal Tourist Office.
PRICE AND DATA.
The price per route and person will be 3 euros (free for children under 10 years).
Registration is mandatory, for which it is ESSENTIAL to provide the form (available on the municipal website) and fill in the following information: name, surname, ID number, telephone number and a contact email.
The same person may not target more than 4 walkers, including herself.
Limited places.
RETURN OF AMOUNT.
Only the amount of the route will be returned to those people who notify their absence at most on the Thursday before the day of the activity, as long as the vacancy is filled with the waiting list.
For the return you can go through the Department of Environment at the latest on Tuesday following the day of the completion of the route.
After that day the money will not be returned.
EQUIPEMENT.
It is mandatory to be provided with water (minimum 1.5 liters per person), footwear suitable for hiking, hat, raincoat and some warm clothing.
Advisable cane, binoculars and camera, as well as a snack.
It is recommended to check the weather forecast for the day of the itinerary and adapt the equipment to the announced forecasts.
AGE.
Minors must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Those over 70 should consult their conditions with this council.
DISPLACEMENTS
By bus provided by the City Hall.
TIME AND PLACE OF CONCENTRATION.
All routes will have the 8:00 concentration hour at the Fairgrounds, except the last four that have different schedules.
The final times and places will be announced in each call.
UNEXPECTED.
The City Council may suspend or modify the routes in case of rain or other force majeure.
If it is possible to do it again, a new date will be announced for its realization.
GUIDE TEAM.
Each route will have a knowledgeable guide of the area and its peculiarities, as well as support guides.
