The City of Alhama de Murcia has put out to tender the improvement and repair works on the Ramblar and Olmillo road.
A proposed action in the latest edition of Participatory Budgets and which has a project price of 70,000 euros.
The work, in most cases, will consist of the removal of the existing firm and its replacement by a new one, in addition to tubing the irrigation canal in some sections to increase the width of the road and thus improve its safety.
The Ramblar road belongs to the City's public road network.
Its length is 2,600 meters and it is paved, with a width that ranges between 4 and 4.5 meters.
In addition, it has on its right edge (Totana-Alhama sense) a precast concrete channel about 40 cm wide that brings irrigation water to the different agricultural plots, in addition to collecting and evacuating rainwater from the road.
This route, traveled by pedestrians and vehicles that access the properties, presents difficulties for the circulation, due to its narrowness, which creates risk situations, especially in the sections where there are curves.
The action entails the cutting and demolition of the existing firm (and the canal if necessary) and the placement on a sand bed of 10 cm of a 0.3-meter pvc pipe, which will be covered with protective sand and over gravel artificial compacted in a variable thickness, between 15 and 40 cms.
When the thickness is less than 15 cm, a layer of concrete will be spread on top.
On these materials the final firm will be applied and compacted, a hot asphalt 5 cm thick.
Its repair has been divided into three sections, the first from the crossing with the Tejares road to the crossing with the Huerto de la Hormiga road;
the second from there to the intersection with the Rambla del Molino;
and the third from that point to the intersection with the Almendrico road.
The case of the Olmillo road is similar to the previous one, but with its length it is shorter: 550 meters.
The works include the placement of boxes and grilles for the collection of rainwater, as well as road signs and panels.
The deadline for its execution is two months, counting from the beginning of the work.
