The Violeta Prize is an activity promoted by the Women's Advisory Council of the Department of Equality on the occasion of March 8, 'International Women's Day'.
This award was created in the 90s with the intention of making a public recognition to Alhamean women who have fought for equal opportunities.
BASES:
1. OBJECT:
Convene the XXV Violet Prize of the Department of Equality of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
The objective of this Prize is to make a public recognition of a significant Alhamean woman, who has distinguished herself in any field of cultural, political, economic or social life, contributing to the achievement of equality.
2. CANDIDATURES:
They may present their candidacies both individuals and organizations that wish to propose to a woman from Almeria as deserving of the XXV Violet Prize 2020.
Proposals will be submitted in writing, including the reasons they consider mentioning and highlighting referred to the proposed candidate (s).
The Violet Prize will not be awarded posthumously.
The merits to be valued by the jury will be the following: contribute with your personal and / or professional life to the achievement of equality, whether or not you have been a pioneer in something, fight for equal rights.
His career in volunteering will not be valued.
3. PRIZE:
After the jury's decision, the winner will be informed first and then the general population through the local media.
The award ceremony will be held during the commemorative events of International Women's Day organized by the Department of Equality of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
The prize will be honorary, and will consist of a violet-shaped brooch, created exclusively for this award.
4. PRESENTATION:
The deadline for submitting proposals will begin the day after the publication of these bases on the notice board of the City of Alhama de Murcia and will end on March 3, at 2:00 p.m.
The proposals will be anonymous and may be submitted in writing or through the website of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
In writing in two envelopes, in an envelope the reasons considered mentioning and highlighting referred to the proposed candidate (s) and in another on the name of the woman proposed for Violeta Prize will be included.
Through the Alhama City Council website, two fields will be filled in, one with the reasons considered to be mentioned and highlighted referring to the proposed candidate (s) and the other with the name of the woman proposed for the Violeta Prize, also guaranteeing the anonymity.
The applications will be presented or sent to the Department of Equality of the City of Alhama de Murcia, in the Nursery of Companies for Women, located in the c / Luis Pasteur s / n, CP 30840 of Alhama de Murcia, on business days of 9: 00 to 14:00 hours.
5. JURY:
The members of the jury will be appointed by Resolution of the Mayor's Office, which will be made public through its presentation on the notice board of the City of Alhama de Murcia along with the contest rules.
This jury will consist of:
President: The Councilor for Equality of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
Vice President: The Councilor for Associations of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
Vowels:
· Two representatives for each women's association of the municipality of Alhama de Murcia.
· A representative of the Women's Area of ​​the majority unions in the Municipality of Alhama de Murcia.
Secretary: The technique of the women's area and coordinator of the Business Nursery for Women of the City of Alhama de Murcia.
The President will have the vote of quality.
The Vice President and the Secretary will not have a vote.
The jury will be constituted and will meet in order to issue the ruling.
In the first place, it will verify one by one all the applications submitted to verify the effective fulfillment of the conditions established in the present bases and, consequently, to pronounce on their definitive admission.
The jury will assess the fulfillment of the objectives of the contest, its exemplary value for the rest of women from the point of view of Gender Equality and the importance of their events in society.
The jury may declare the award void if they consider that none of the candidates presented merit enough merit to be awarded, as well as establish a second prize and mentions.
In case of a tie, the quality vote of the president will resolve.
The jury's decision is final.
The persons and organizations that propose candidates, by the mere fact of participating in this award, expressly waive the exercise of all types of claims against the resolutions of that one.
If the winner renounces the prize, the next one will be appointed in scoring and so on.
6. AWARDED:
The prizewinner will be invited to participate in the events organized by the council for a year as a representative of the Alhamean women, and the commemorative brooch must show off in these acts.
The Violeta Prize will participate in the delivery of the award of the following year.
7. ADVERTISING:
The call and its bases will be published on the website of the City of Alhama de Murcia and on the notice board of the City Council.
In January, the publicity of this contest will begin through local media and social networks.
8. FINAL RULES:
The fact of participating in the prize implies the knowledge and acceptance of the present bases, of the rights and obligations that derive;
reason why they will not be able to challenge them once the presentation is formalized.
The competent bodies will be empowered to resolve any doubts that arise and take the necessary agreements for the good order of the prize, in everything not provided for in these rules.
