This morning the inauguration of the Alhama-Totana fire station took place, after the renovation of these facilities.
The event, chaired by the head of the Regional Executive, Fernando López Miras, has been assisted by the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, and the mayors of Totana, Fuente Álamo, Librilla and Aledo, in addition to the Minister of Transparency of the Autonomous Community and the manager of the Firefighting Consortium.
The expansion of this infrastructure, which was tendered in 2016 and has lasted for three years, was included in the Strategic Plan for the Modernization of the Fire and Rescue Termination Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS).
During that time, the provisional park was located in a warehouse of the industrial estate El Saladar, in Totana.
The park covers the municipalities of Alhama, Totana, Aledo, Librilla and the northern area of ​​Fuente Álamo.
In addition, its area of ​​influence is also decisive in supporting the Mazarrón park in case of a large-scale intervention.
The reform has cost 371,192 euros, and includes the urban remodeling of the park plot, the creation of a truck laundry area, a gym, the reconstruction of the pool, the increase of parking spaces for vehicles intervention and the extension of the administrative and social zone.
The vehicles that the park has are a headship car, a nurse car, a BRP vehicle, a BUL 1000 truck, a BUL 2000 truck and a height rescue vehicle (ABE).
Guevara has stressed the importance of the return of firefighters to their original facilities, "it is a benefit for our municipality and a better service for all Alhameños, because every second counts when we talk about an emergency where lives are at risk."
The mayor thanked the regional government for carrying out these works and has moved her willingness to "collaborate with the City Council to address all matters of interest that benefit our neighbors."
During the past year, the firefighters of this park acted in 237 interventions of diverse consideration.
This data represents 5.97 percent of the total actions that the CEIS carried out in the Region of Murcia in 2019.
