The program 'Neither stories with partridges, nor pink novels', aimed at the four groups of 3rd of the ESO of the IES Miguel Hernández, begins this Wednesday, February 26 with the aim of training young people in the prevention of sexist violence and the promotion of healthy and egalitarian relationships.
The initiative is a proposal of the center's feminist committee, which was selected in the latest edition of participatory budgets, under the title 'Education for equality and prevention of sexist violence', with a budget of € 3,010.
The objective, according to its proponents, is "to end this social scourge from an early age through education in respect and equality, especially in a Region that is at the forefront among the autonomous communities with the highest rate of women victims of violence male chauvinist".
The program is coordinated by the Young Women Association of the Region of Murcia: March 8 (MUJOMUR), which has five years of experience, and has implemented similar experiences in municipalities such as Águilas, Murcia, Santomera and Molina de Segura.
Eight sessions with students and three advisory services, the final evaluation includes both students and teachers to know the impact of the project.
Goals:
To facilitate the knowledge of the phenomenon of gender violence and its social approach, understanding its nature, causes, types and consequences: gender violence in the couple, differences with domestic violence, female genital mutilation, sexual violence, convictions for gender violence in an open and closed environment, etc.
Demystify and eradicate the social and cultural myths that justify gender violence and inequality between women and men.
Encourage the construction of a non-sexist identity, overcoming cognitive, affective and behavioral models based on submission, violence and affective dependence.
Raise awareness of those actions that, within social relationships, put the safety and integrity of minors at risk in the context of new technologies: sextorsion and grooming.
Know how the roles associated with women and men vary depending on culture, society and different historical moments.
Encourage the critical analysis of students against the contradictory messages sent to them by advertising, social networks and the media on gender issues: fake news, information biases, learning about the consultation of statistical data on crimes of sexist violence and domestic violence, etc.
Promote a responsible and conscious attitude towards sexuality, specifically, about sexual consent, STDs and the risks of sexting.
Publicize the value of co-responsibility, links and the affective component in couple relationships through the ethics of relationships: autonomy, shared responsibility and respect for health.
Learn emotional intelligence skills and abilities to face situations of tension and conflict in the couple.
Strengthen assertive communication style, respect for diversity, gender equality, personal autonomy, the value of cooperation and group dialogue, the ability to defend and express different points of view, critical thinking skills and Become aware of our rights.
The competences of this project are based on the recommendations on education, prevention and equality of Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22, for the effective equality of women and men, Organic Law 1/2004, of 28 December, of Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence.
