The Olympic ceremony will take place on Saturday April 25 at the Guadalentín sports complex, which will feature the torch parade, lighting the pebetero, raising the Olympic flag and reading the oath
This morning, the Councilor for Sports, Rosa Sánchez, presented the VI School Olympiad of Alhama de Murcia.
A project launched as a commitment of this area and of the teaching professionals of the primary education centers of the municipality to carry out common activities, share experiences and favor different learning styles, among others.
It is an enriching experience for all students of our centers, not only for the acquisition of new knowledge in a playful and motivating way, but also as promotion of values ​​of respect, loyalty, solidarity, spirit of improvement and coexistence among children .
The project seeks to promote in the educational community the importance of physical activity, instilling in young students the passion for sport, understanding it as a healthy and healthy activity that must be promoted from a very early age.
It was in the year 2000, with the celebration of the I SCHOOL OLYMPICS, when this journey begins, which has been repeated every four years, coinciding with the celebration of the Summer Olympic Games.
As of the III School Olympiad 2008, the program of activities is increased and a wide range of sports are included, such as volleyball, basketball, athletics, handball, soccer 8 and swimming;
and the predeportive games of mate and minibasket.
Its development is throughout a week, in which a large number of primary school students from the centers of our town can participate.
This year, we will also have the football competition 3, for children in 1st and 2nd grade, a majority sport that moves masses.
Given the difficulty that all children can participate in the different sports modalities and scheduled days, there will be three previous days for elementary students, one for 1st and 2nd, another for 3rd and 4th and the last for 5 ° and 6 °.
In them the students will have the opportunity to live with all the children of the primary education centers of Alhama and enjoy a playful-sport day.
This year, for the second time, the schools of the districts also participate.
The steps to follow are those:
1. Assignment to each center of a continent and a country of that continent:
Continent america
· Country Brazil (Yellow) - Ricardo Codorníu School.
· Country Argentina (Celestial Blue) - Azaraque School.
Europe continent
· Country Spain (Red) - Antonio Machado School.
Asia continent
· Country Japan (White) - Colegio Ntra. Sra. Del Rosario.
· Country China (Gray) - Sierra Spain School.
Mainland oceania
Country New Zealand (Royal Blue) - Ginés Díaz - San Cristóbal.
Continent africa
· Country Madagascar (Green) - Prince of Spain College.
2. Creation and choice of the pet for each center:
This will be an internal process of each center, where, through the procedure that each of them decides, they will choose their pet.
3. Equipment of the centers:
The Department of Sports will equip each child with a shirt with the recording of the pet chosen by their center.

COMPETITION DEVELOPMENT
The activities will be developed in two phases:
First phase:
It will be for all primary school children, it will consist of an activity on the running track, where all children will practice, in a playful and recreational way, the various athletic modalities, races - jumps - throws.
5th and 6th grade will participate on Monday, March 2.
3rd and 4th grade will participate on Wednesday, March 4.
1st and 2nd grade will participate on Friday, March 6.
Second stage:
Competitive phase.
The sports scheduled for the different courses will be the following:
1st and 2nd grade.
Swimming and athletics, Soccer 3x3.
3rd and 4th grade.
Swimming, athletics, matte for 3rd and multisport and minibasket for 4th.
5th and 6th grade.
Swimming, athletics, soccer 8, handball, basketball.
It will be held from Saturday 18 to Saturday April 25.
