The councilor for Infrastructures and Public Services, Antonio García, wanted to thank today the offer that farmers and the COAG organization have made to the Alhama City Council to collaborate in the disinfection of the municipality.
García explained that Alhameño farmers and COAG contacted the Consistory to offer their services.
"It is not true that from the City Council we have rejected this aid," said the councilor, who clarified that "we are delighted that farmers can collaborate in the disinfection of Alhama", but that it must be done following the protocols that marks the Ministry of Health.
This has been transferred this morning to representatives of the organization.
"We are seeing the best way for tractors to go out and carry out the tasks in the coming days, following the instructions of the ministry," he said.
In addition, different companies have approached the City Council to make their services and products available to the municipality, to whom García has also thanked them for their predisposition.
In the street cleaning and disinfection procedure in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the protocols set by the Government of Spain are being followed and the products indicated by the Ministry of Health are being used, with emphasis on the areas of greatest traffic, such as the health center, the 061 service, the residence for the elderly, the Red Cross, the Civil Guard, the Local Police, supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies and all businesses with activity.
Every day, the City Council's own resources are used, as well as those of the cleaning concession company (FCC).
Today, Monday, five vehicles were used: a truck with two operators and a tank with a capacity of 8,000 liters, a pressure washer truck with two operators and a capacity of 1,000 liters, a container-washing truck with a capacity of 5,000 liters, a crane truck with two operators and a capacity of 1,000 liters and a smaller vehicle with a 400-liter tank and two operators to access the narrowest streets and places where the above vehicles cannot enter.
Every day approximately 50,000 liters of water are being used, treated with products authorized by Health.
Last Saturday the forestry brigade of the General Directorate of Medio Natural joined these tasks.
"Alhama residents can rest easy, our streets are disinfected every day from Monday to Sunday," concluded García.
