The Alhama City Council has 2.5 million euros of the 2020 budget to help residents in front of Covid-19 (26/04/2020)

| The extraordinary plenary session held this Friday, the first telematics event in our history, has approved a game of 859,248 euros for coping with the economic and social crisis | -The Plenum of the Alhama de Murcia City Council has approved a joint motion by 19 of the 21 councilors, to carry out urgent actions to guarantee social protection and economic stimulation of the municipality in the face of the health crisis caused by the Covid coronavirus pandemic- 19 and the declaration of the state of alarm, which has brought about a total confinement of the population, making many companies and workers unable to continue with their activity.The beneficiaries will be individuals and families in a situation of economic and social vulnerability, local retail trade and self-employed workers, but they are also intended to promote and strengthen the network of welfare associations and non-profit entities, as well as other measures of a character nature.

tax.Since the start of the state of alarm, the City Council has been working to speed up the payment of invoices to suppliers as much as possible, proof of this is that invoices worth more than 1.5 million euros have been paid and a treasury plan for disposition of funds.In addition, the periods for the payment of taxes are facilitated and extended such as the IBI (contribution), IVTM (car stamp), IAE and the permanent ford register.The measures contemplate the possibility of splitting or deferring payments for taxes and interest rates 0%.Public rates and prices will be returned and / or compensated for the duration of the alarm state and in some cases, such as the weekly market and kiosks, payment will not be required during the 2nd quarter.The amount approved, of 859,248 euros, will help to alleviate the effects of the temporary closure of businesses and for the care of disadvantaged people and groups. It includes four lines of action:1.

Aid lines to the sectors affected by Royal Decree 463/2020 (€ 321,000)2.

Social contingency plan (€ 231,248)3.

Municipal employment plan (€ 207,000)4.

Contingency fund (€ 100,000)To these amounts must be added 1.5 million euros budgeted for 2020 in the area of ??Social Welfare, in addition to another 84,000 euros for hiring people with disabilities, which makes a total of more than 2.5 million euros.

All this in addition to the existing tax credits to companies to promote the hiring of people at risk of social exclusion and women victims of gender violence.Likewise, the service of attention to the self-employed, merchants, businessmen and individuals affected by the closure of their activity will be reinforced and promoted, in which their demands can be collected and the processing of public aid at the local, regional, state and European level is attended.
