The neighborhood associations, the watercress women's association 'El Abedul' and the pedarios mayors of the five districts of the town communicate the suspension of their patron saint festivities in 2020 before the pandemic caused by Covid-19. The agreement with the Alhama de Murcia City Council establishes for this year a fixed amount for each district of 3,500 euros, destined to develop their patron saint festivities, festive and cultural Christmas events, in addition to another 900 euros to cover management, information and diffusion during 2020.Given the exceptional situation we are experiencing, the agreement itself includes the possibility that, if the festivals cannot be celebrated, they may be changed or adapted for other activities or events that may be carried out, according to the moment. In the event of not carrying out any type of activity, these amounts -or the surpluses after carrying out certain agreed actions-, will be destined to the social and economic contingency plan launched by the City Council to meet the needs of the people and businesses affected for the situation generated after the declaration of the state of alarm, as a consequence of the pandemic.
