| The general increase in infections in most municipalities, including Alhama, requires extreme precautions | Cases in our town are increasing worryingly and the health center is monitoring about 120 residentsThe measures adopted so far by the City Council have contributed to the fact that there are no more cases of contagion, according to those responsible for the Autonomous CommunityThis Friday the Municipal Operational Coordination Center (CECOPAL) met again, chaired by Mayor Mariola Guevara, who on this occasion was assisted by José Carlos Vicente, General Director of Public Health, Asensio López, Managing Director of the Murcian Health Service and Ángel Baeza, manager of Area 1-Arrixaca, in addition to the coordinators of the health center and the municipality's SUAP.Those responsible for the Autonomous Community have exposed the serious situation that the Region is going through, warning of the general increase in cases, where Alhama has entered the maximum surveillance phase.
The next 14 days will be key to knowing if the spread of the virus can be contained. In this sense, they have committed to meet the requests made from the City Council, such as having a social worker in the health center to act in coordination with Social Services in order to detect and attend to the family needs of affected people .
Another request that they have estimated is to increase the information between the Town Hall, the health center and the primary care emergency service in order to have data in real time.
As well as having housing resources to care for people with homes that do not meet the conditions to keep quarantine, enabling spaces in the different hospital centers of the Region. The SMS managing director has indicated that Alhama could have a selective Covid-19 sampling point starting next week. The health authorities have endorsed the measures adopted by CECOPAL, recommending that they be maintained. From the Department of Health they remind again that it is essential to keep quarantine for those who must do so and comply with all security measures, such as the use of a mask, permanent hand hygiene and maintain a safe distance.
