This Friday the II Covid Monitoring Committee took place -which began last Tuesday, August 25 with a first meeting-, chaired by the Mayor, and which was attended by José Carlos Vicente, general director of Public Health, Inmaculada Barceló, general director of Health Assistance, Ángel Baeza, manager of the I-Arrixaca Health Area, and Francisco Marín, deputy director of nursing for the same area.
The coordinators of the health center and the SUAP, municipal technicians from the area of ??Social Services, Security and Citizen Protection and the Government team. The meeting analyzed the evolution of the incidence of the virus in Alhama, which in the last 14 days has experienced a worrying growth.
The health center is monitoring 231 people, of which 78 are PCR positive cases (figures provided by the health officials of the Autonomous Community in real time). The situation of red level in which the Alhama health center is located, which was activated this Thursday, August 27, has also been addressed, due to the very high rate of infections in the municipality.
In this sense, the health authorities of the Autonomous Community have established limitations, such as access control, mandatory prior appointment and you can only go under the indication of doctors and emergencies, since most of the professionals are dedicated to attending to the people affected by Covid-19 and the rest to frail or chronically ill patients.Yesterday CECOPAL met on two occasions, since the scenario of the situation in Alhama analyzed in a first meeting in the morning changed in the following hours.
For this reason, the Mayor called in an extraordinary and urgent way a second meeting in the afternoon to adopt new decisions with the aim of protecting neighbors and preventing a further spread of infections. The CARM Ministry of Health already ordered new measures this Wednesday: prohibition of meetings of more than six people who do not live together in both public and private spaces, maximum limit of 30 people in celebrations (wedding celebrations and civil and religious ceremonies) and in the wakes up to a maximum of 15 people in closed spaces and 25 if they are outdoors, as well as reducing the number of passengers in a vehicle to 50% of its capacity if they are not living together. In addition, in the municipalities with the highest level of risk of virus transmission, such as Murcia, Lorca, Fuente Álamo, Abarán and Alhama, they have reduced to 40% the capacity inside the hotel and restaurant establishments, as well as the recommendation to people over 65 years of age who remain at home except for essential or essential activities.
All this with the aim of guaranteeing health care for the population. Thus, the Municipal Operational Coordination Center has decided to apply the following restrictions as of this midnight (00:00 on August 29), with an indefinite validity:Sports facilities are closed to the public: Guadalentín sports complex, including the summer pool and gym, as well as the El Praíco sports center.Suspension of the summer cinema cultural activity.Extend the closure of the children's play areas of the municipality and its districts, as well as the Skate Park in Nueva Espuña, the bio-healthy games and the petanque courts.Extend the closure of the free access sports courts located in the urban area and districts.Extend the closure of the rehearsal room.Extend the closure of the social centers of the districts.Keep the two covered pavilions, the heated pool and the leisure center for the elderly in La Cubana Park closed. The City Council, the Social Services Center and the rest of the municipal offices and services remain open as they are up to now, complying with the rules of capacity, safety and hygiene.Information to the public will also be increased with awareness campaigns focused on hygienic-sanitary standards, especially strengthening the weekly market with a public address system and greater control and surveillance with the support of a brigade of volunteers.
These are added to other dissemination campaigns and information actions through the public address system with Civil Protection volunteers and municipal brigades, which have been carried out since the beginning of the state of alarm. The Health Department of the City Council once again reminds all residents of the need to scrupulously comply with the rules and recommendations, such as the mandatory use of a mask, continuous hand hygiene, maintain social distance and escape from crowds.
Also avoid any type of family gathering and / or with friends, with the aim of stopping the further spread of the virus.Anyone with symptoms consistent with the disease should immediately call the freephone number 900 12 12 12 and follow instructions.
