This morning the Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, the Councilor for Transport, Eva Sánchez, and the Councilor for Health, Rosa Sánchez, held a meeting with the heads of the company that has been awarded the Lorca-Murcia line with the objective of advancing and finalizing the procedures for the start-up of the Alhama-Arrixaca bus.At the meeting, both parties have shared information to be able to specify the characteristics and costs that the service would have, with the objective that the company transfers a budget that can be included in the agreement that the City Council must sign with the General Directorate of Mobility and Litoral: 'Collaboration Agreement between the City Council and the CARM Department of Development and Infrastructure for the implementation of improvements in public transport in Alhama de Murcia, concession MUR-043'.The company has explained that it must make a modification of its current contract to start up this service, with which it would obtain authorization to stop at the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital.For its part, the City Council will be in charge of providing them with the schedules and the number of places for the service.
To this end, the Health and Transport councils have already requested the health authorities to provide them with a statistic of the days and dates that alhameños attend this hospital the most, in order for the service to be as accurate and adapted possible.
Once this information is obtained, the Alhameño Council will transfer it to the bus company to carry out a cost study, after which the agreement will be signed.Regarding the amount of the ticket, travelers would pay the standard price of the trip and the difference until the City Council costs; it is expected not to exceed 3-4 euros per person per trip.The procedures could be completed within a month, approximately.
