The Councilor for Education, María José López, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Nani Navarro, have met with the directors of the two public institutes in Alhama, Roberto García, from Valle de Leiva, and Blas S.
Carrillo, from Miguel Hernández .
The objective of the meeting has been to study the programs that are carried out through Social Services, in coordination with the Education area and the feasibility of maintaining them this year, taking into account space restrictions and hygienic-sanitary measures. The City Council has shown its willingness to meet the needs of the management teams of both centers.
Two of the initiatives that are being implemented are the PMAE (Program of Alternative Measures to Expulsion), whose fundamental objectives are the improvement of school coexistence and the prevention of absenteeism, "provided by professionals and obtaining excellent results", indicates López, and BELIEVE IN YOU, which treats children with behavior and study problems, working with them continuously.The IES Valle de Leiva has also requested a classroom to teach 20 FPB (Basic Professional Training) students, as they do not have enough classrooms.
In this sense, he made a prior request to the General Directorate of Educational Quality, without obtaining a response to date.
