The failure of the stage of María Cánovas, the umpteenth party spokesperson since 2015, which has been characterized by a continuous search for confrontations and a null interest in the real problems of the alhameños, is consummated, following the guidelines imposed by the regional PP with the only objective of finding accommodation in Murcia. Alhama needs a leading opposition party to match the situation we are experiencing.

Neighbors ask politicians every day to be able to reach agreements that are in the general interest and in the search for solutions. With the so far spokesperson for the Popular Party, María Cánovas, it has been practically impossible to build bridges and reach pacts that benefit the entire population of Alhameña.

Her function at the head of the Municipal Group of the PP can be described as disappointing, systematically failing to fulfill her obligations as councilor of the opposition, such as attending the contracting tables where transcendental decisions are made on all City Council contracts, or the information commissions and meetings of spokespersons, where those matters that will go to the Plenary are discussed. From the Socialist Party of Alhama we wish José Pedro Otón luck as the new spokesman for the popular in the City Council and we hope that we can sit down and agree on new measures that respond to the serious health and socioeconomic situation that affects the population as a result of the pandemic that we are suffering. We reach out to him and, at the same time, we ask him to be vindictive in Murcia and demand that his colleagues from the Autonomous Community treat Alhama as it deserves, collaborating economically and logistically with our municipality, unblocking the four most important needs that we have and that we have been asking since the previous legislature, such as the construction of the new IES Valle de Leiva, the repair of the RM-515 (Gebas) road, the expansion of the Virgen del Rosario residence for the elderly and the transfer of the emergency service of primary care in order to expand the health center.

All of them depend solely on the will of the regional government to be able to undertake them, since the City Council has taken all the steps and facilities to make them a reality.For this we commit to continue collaborating and maintaining institutional loyalty between administrations.
