The Alhama de Murcia City Council has distributed this morning about 10,000 children's masks to children from 1st to 6th grade of primary school in all the schools in the town, specifically the CEIP Ginés Díaz - San Cristóbal, Antonio Machado, Sierra Espuña, Príncipe from Spain, Our Lady of Rosario, Ricardo Codorníu, Azaraque, and the two schools in the districts: La Costera and Reina Sofía de El Cañarico.The distribution has been made personally by the Councilors for Education, María José López, and Social Welfare, Nani Navarro, who have visited all the centers and delivered the masks to the principals, who have been in charge of taking them to each classroom following the established hygiene and safety protocols. From early Wednesday, both councilors have been in charge of preparing the bags for the different groups, with the collaboration of the brigades, in the municipal warehouse.The initiative, under the title ´The Alhama City Council takes care of you´, consists of the distribution of individual packages with five units of children's masks for each student, distributed in the different educational centers of the urban area and districts with the aim schoolchildren are protected.In addition, the Social Services center has been delivering masks, both for adults and children, to those people and / or families who, due to their situation, require it.This distribution is in addition to those that were made during the months of April, May and September 'door to door' in all the homes of the municipality (20,000 adults and 3,000 children), plus another 20,000 donated by the Government of Spain and distributed by municipal workers. With this new campaign, more than 50,000 masks and 40,000 protective gloves will have been delivered to the Alhameña population by the City Council in all the houses of the municipality, the five districts, countryside areas and the Condado de Alhama urbanization.The mask is mandatory for children from 6 years old.

Minors of that age are exempt from wearing it.
