Within the actions framed in the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Association for the Custody of the Territory and Sustainable Development (ACUDE), whose main objective is to value the municipal estate La Alcanara, the planting of 100 specimens of Tamarix boveana to create a natural hedge with this native species of the Guadalentín salt flats, avoiding soil erosion and increasing its biodiversity.In addition to these actions, ACUDE will also plant rainfed cereals on the municipal farm, in order to provide complementary trophic resources to primary consumers such as insects and small rodents, which promote the feeding of steppe raptors characteristic of this environment , such as the lesser kestrel (Falco naummanni), a species cataloged in danger of extinction.The Councilor for the Environment, Antonio Espinosa, has traveled to the municipal area to check the repopulation actions that the association is carrying out during these days. The set of environmental values ??of this territory has made it worthy of up to four different environmental protection figures: Protected Landscape, Place of Community Importance (SCI), Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and Wild Fauna Protection Area (APFS).
