This morning, the Alhama City Council received an income of € 945,000 from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (former Ministry of Development) for the definitive restoration of the municipality's Castle.
These works consist of the recovery of the house of Los Fajardo and the Aljibe, the raising of the wall and the reconstruction of the Christian houses that are next to it. On June 5, 2018, the extract of the order calling for the submission of applications through competitive competition to the 1.5% cultural program granted by the Government was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
from Spain. The City Council submitted a request on July 3, 2018 for the financing of the restoration works of the lower enclosure of the Castle, according to the bases and the cited order. Once the requirements had been corrected, the ministry notified the provisional resolution ex officio on April 10, 2019.
On April 26 of that year, the City Council expressly accepted the provisional grant of aid.
Within the period established to correct documentation, the consistory met in the general direction of Cultural Assets of the CARM for the approval of the project and in September it was sent to the ministry updated and with all the required data. During all these months, and based on the document presented, different allegations were made by the area of ??Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
On July 27, 2020, the Local Government Board of Alhama approved the agreement for final acceptance, since then the technicians have been working on the specifications to put the works out to tender.
A tender that is scheduled for the next few months. The project is co-financed by the two administrations, state and local, corresponding to the City Council the contribution of almost 405,000 euros.
