The Association for the Custody of the Territory and Sustainable Development (ACUDE) is carrying out a second intervention in the municipal estate of La Alcanara, after the �reinforcement of tarays� screens last November.ï¿ ½It consists of tasks of sowing cereals in various plots or old crops, specifically wheat, barley and oats, as sustenance for fauna in order to promote food trophic resources of threatened birds, such as the common bustard and the stone curlew, and other game birds, such as the pigeon and the partridge, as well as the rabbit, which, in turn, serve as food for larger predators.
This action is intended to increase the biodiversity and plant heterogeneity of this space, within the framework of the collaboration agreement that the Consistory has with this association. This morning, during the visit, they were present, in addition to the Councilor for the Environment, �Antonio Espinosa, and the mayor of Pedan�as, �Eva S�nchez, the president of ACUDE, �Pilar S�nchez, the vice-president and secretary of the association, �Juan Luis Castanedo, the president of the Society of Hunters of Las Caà ± adas de Alhama, �Antonio Valero, and the president of the Society of Hunters of Alhama de Murcia, �Tomas�n Mart�nez, both collaborators with ACUDE in the management of public estates in the municipality within the agreement.� Espinosa thanked "the involvement of the association in the enhancement of this municipal farm".
