Blas Perez, representative of GF Villa de Alhama, and Alicia Martinez, Councillor for Culture, presented to us yesterday XXXIII Folk Festival Los Mayos 2016, organized by the GF Villa de Alhama which will take place on April 30 at 21.30 in the Municipal Auditorium.
Blas Perez said that at this thirty-third festival will feature the Group of Songs and Dances San Anton, Peña la Zaranda, Murcia, with the Folkloric Group Estate, Village Cinderella, and the Group of Songs and Dances The Miajón, of Mostoles, and GF Villa de Alhama as event organizer.
Perez said that this year will be installed a decorated magnificent and invited all the people of Alhama to enjoy this new Folklore Festival 2016 Los Mayos.
Alicia Martinez who accompanied Blas in the presentation, highlighted the important award that received the GF Villa de Alhama in the International Folklore Festival in Agrigento (Sicily), one of the oldest and most important festivals in the world of folklore, which represented Spain and in which they won the first prize to the locker room, one of the four most important festival awards.
Finally Alicia extol the work from the group is carried out in the recovery of elements and traditional customs of Alhama and invite all alhameños to attend the festival, framed within the celebration of the Mayos, is an important representation of traditions, culture and folklore in Alhama.
