This morning was held the First Meeting of Bands in the Region.
The event is part of celebrations to mark the 34th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of the Region of Murcia and has enjoyed the cooperation of the Federation of Bands of Murcia.
A total of 22 groups and more than 1,000 musicians have entertained with their music different streets of Murcia from 11.00 hours, starting from seven different points.
At 1330 it was held the meeting in the Plaza Martínez Tornel (end of the Gran Vía), where they have played together the Hymn of the Federation of Bands, Sighs of Spain and La Parranda (Canto a Murcia), under the baton José Ibáñez Barrachina, director of the Musical Association "the Muses" of Guadalupe.
The event was attended, among other authorities, the Community President, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, and the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
This has been one of the acts that have developed today, including activities for children are also included in different parks, the exhibition with material from the Spanish Armada, which has this afternoon received the Gold Medal of the Region, or display Parachute Acrobatic Patrol Air Force, which has taken place this morning.
