The Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Diego Conesa, held last September 22 a meeting with the Government Delegate in Murcia, Antonio Sanchez-Solis, to discuss various issues, including issues related to public safety Alhama.
On this point, and facing the immediate celebration of the festivities in the city, the mayor asked the Government Delegate an increase of agents of the Civil Guard during the course of the fair.
Sanchez-Solis committed to sending ten effective during the period duration of the celebrations, regardless of the usual police presence.
On this point, Diego Conesa, stressed that the presence of the Civil Guard in the town will be aimed at ensuring public safety and the normal development of the various events of the fair and festival in October, regardless of their own work the Meritorious being developed in the municipality.
The operation will feature ten components of the Special Public Safety Unit of the Civil Guard and the Traffic Department, who will develop various controls, both vehicles and breathalyzer.
The Mayor has indicated that effective will be coordinated with the agents of the local police of the municipality, especially in the days where greater numbers of people are expected.
It is intended that both Alhama neighbors and visitors who come to town to have greater security during these festivities.
