The Local Government Board approved a proposal by the Mayor's Office on Tuesday to urge the Autonomous Community's General Directorate of Highways to carry out different actions on RM-515, following the damages caused by the rains that occurred from December 16 to 19, 2016.
This zone of union between Alhama, Gebas, El Berro and Pliego, is in a very dangerous state for traffic, especially the road.
This month there have been drags and landslides on the different roads belonging to the Autonomous Community in which our municipality has been forced to carry out cleaning and viability with their own means to open them to traffic and access to the districts that had Incommunicado.
Specifically in the RM-515 a large crack has been opened in the agglomerate with the consequent danger of detachment and collapse of part of the road.
For this reason it has officially asked the General Direction of Roads to undertake the following actions:
A. The cleaning and repair, as soon as possible, of those roads that are owned by the municipality and for which no municipal intervention has already been carried out.
B. The immediate arrangement of the RM-515 given the gravity of the sinking and crack existing before reaching the hamlet of Gebas.
C. The immediate evaluation of this section of the RM-515 in case it is necessary to close the circulation given the high risk.
D. To collect the economic data of the damages produced in the roads of its ownership that run by the municipality in order to obtain the public aid that can be established due to the heavy rains.
The petition is in addition to those already formulated during this legislature by the City Council of Alhama and the Tourist Association of Sierra Espuña, both the president of the Autonomous Community and the Minister of Development, so that they can be contemplated in regional budgets.
In the meantime, these repairs are not carried out, the City Council requests the utmost caution to all persons and vehicles passing through the area, avoiding this if not strictly necessary.
