The Local Government Board has agreed this Wednesday to require the company Iberdrola Distribución Eléctrica SAU to urgently adopt the necessary technical measures to modernize and improve the distribution network to end the repeated problem of frequent supply disruptions .
Due to the rain and wind that occurred between December 16 and 19, there have been repeated electrical cuts in a large sector of the urban case, namely the areas of Avda. Ginés Campos, Av. Juan Carlos I, B ° de The Philippines, C / Luis Pasteur, Avda. Bastarreche, C / Totana, etc., in some cases of more than 10 hours.
Irrespective of the storm, the affected areas have suffered supply interruptions for more than ten years, when the weather conditions are variable without being adverse.
According to data from the municipal technical office, this is an old problem of the urban distribution network that has not yet been resolved as a consequence of the age of some electrical infrastructures.
In addition there are some processing centers in the affected areas without a ringed connection, a situation that makes it impossible to feed them from other lines resulting in prolonged cutting times.
A circumstance that does not occur in the rest of the municipality.
The petition has also been forwarded to the General Directorate of Industry of the Autonomous Community to require the necessary measures to be taken by the supplying company.
