The Mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, met this morning with the Government Delegate in the Region of Murcia, Antonio Sánchez-Solís and with the Colonel of the 5th Murcia Area, Jesús Arribas, to establish the basis for a greater collaboration between Guardia Civil and Local Police in tasks of citizen security.
A meeting also attended by the Deputy Mayor, Mariola Guevara, and the Councilor for Public Security, Felipe García.
There is a compromise between the parties that will make it possible to have data and statistics on criminal acts, which will be dealt with in the Local Security Board, and which may serve to improve cooperation between the two security forces, as well as a joint organization for the Patrol and controls.
The Mayor has transferred to the Government Delegate the need to have a greater presence of Civil Guard, especially in events of great influx of people.
Specifically, for the feast of Los Mayos, which will take place on May 6 and 7, it is expected to surpass the figure of last year, reaching the 8,000 people in the parade of corridas.
For his part, Sánchez-Solís has indicated the request from the Guardia Civil to fill a vacancy in the barracks of Alhama de Murcia, as an element of improvement in security.
The Mayor thanked the Government Delegate and the Colonel for the work of the Lieutenant-Commander of the Main Post of the Civil Guard in Alhama, José Molina, for the close collaboration he has always had with this City Council.
