Last Saturday, March 11, the Regional Championship of Combined Tests Benjamín and Alevín, as well as the Pentathlon Infantil masculine, were played on the track of our municipality.
In the youngest male category, the Alhama Athletics Club was represented by a total of eight athletes.
Getting up the podium, Daniel Cerón and Marcelo Belchí in second and third position respectively.
The other participants are: Javier Romero (5th), Mario Munuera (7th), Pedro Alfonso Rabal (8th), Adrián Prats (10th), Fernando Morales (15th) and Iker Martínez (21st).
In that same category, but in females participated Ainara Sanfélix, obtaining a meritorious 6º position.
In the juvenile category a total of 11 athletes participated, 5 girls and 6 boys.
With regard to women, Carmen González was able to win the bronze medal, Lucía Alcón was 5th, Elena Abellán 10th, Ángeles González 18th and Verónica Lucas 19th, all improving their personal marks.
As for the boys, Guillermo Piernas was 7th, Miguel García 15th, Ángel Roa 16th, Andrés Belchí 17th;
And Angel Tudela and Miguel Angel Sanchez after suffering some mishap in the development of the competition finished 19th and 21st, respectively.
Alejandro Romero is missing because of an injury that has prevented him from participating in all the regional finals and we hope he will recover soon and have him again with us.
In the boys' category, the athletes of the club crowned the podium, being Achraf Hassouni regional champion and Sergio Orcajada runner-up, after a disputaísima day.
In this category competed four more athletes of the club: Adrían Alcón (5th), Rafael Aledo (6th), Francisco Belchí (10th) and José Toledo (13th).
Also, some control tests were disputed.
Pedro Martinez in the 1,000ml test, made a mark of 2: 43.89 and got the minimum mark to participate in the Spanish Cadet Championship to be held on 18 and 19 March in Antequera.
With this competition ends the regional calendar of covered track, from the club we congratulate the athletes for the results obtained and we encourage them to continue working for the season of open air.
