This morning has begun in the school Ricardo Codorníu the training program in cycling and responsible food of the Vuelta Junior.
An activity sponsored by the Young Sports Foundation of the Higher Sports Council, Unipublic, organizer of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, Cofidis, sponsor company of La Vuelta and the Association of Professional Cyclists ACP.
During the next weeks, the people responsible for this program will visit all the schools in Alhama with a cycling classroom addressed to 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students.
It is developed during school hours in the physical education class so as not to break with the dynamics of the schools.
The Councilor for Sports, Antonio Jose Caja, welcomed the children at the inauguration of this program consisting of two sessions.
The first, theoretical, in which a former professional cyclist explains basic notions of road safety, adapted to each of the ages to be reached, and the characteristics of the sport of cycling, accompanied by anecdotes and peculiarities, leaving the Children to participate at all times to create a class as interactive as possible.
The second is a hands-on session that will test students' skills by performing gymkhanas designed around the school yard.
Of all the students participating in the cycling classroom, there will be a selection that will be able to participate traveling the last two kilometers for which shortly after the professional cyclists who are disputing the end of stage of the Tour of Spain, with arrival to Alhama de Murcia on August 29th.
All attendees will receive gifts and those who make the best route will go to the same podium to which will rise after the stage winner and leader of the professional road.
Both the children and their parents will have a special area so they can enjoy the sporting event.
