The Director General of Roads of the Region of Murcia, José Antonio Fernández and the councilman of Infrastructures and Public Services of Alhama, Antonio García, visited this morning the kilometer point 20 of the RM-515, once finished its repair after the episodes Of rain and snow of December and January, that caused the transfer of the land in two sections.
The visit was attended by Councilor for Urbanism, Antonio Jose Caja, the pedestrian mayor of Gebas, Manuel Gambín and Councilor Antonia Nieto, as well as technicians and those responsible for the works.
The damages caused by the rains caused the landslides on the road and the appearance of cracks in the road that made the circulation difficult.
The work consisted in the removal of fallen trees, the construction of two stone walls with stones to consolidate the road and prevent future landslides, with water exits to protect the slope of the rains.
The damaged concrete has been replaced and the gutter lined with concrete to prevent leaks in this section of the road, as well as the construction of chutes that collect the rainwater and evacuate it.
Widening has also been gained and a closed road curve has been eliminated with poor visibility and improved track layout.
It has also been carried out the repainting of the road markings and horizontal signage and the renovation of the security barrier.
This road, linking the municipalities of Alhama and Pliego, passing through the pedestrians of Gebas and El Berro, will have in its integrity a firm in good condition and the improvement of the complicated points where there is no visibility and those that present difficulty to the Crossing two vehicles.
To this end, the measures that will determine the scope of the project have been implemented.
The commitment of the Autonomous Community, through the General Direction of Roads, is the improvement of the route and get that the road has enough visibility and width so that there are no conflicting points, including the bridges.
