The first one takes place at 8.30 pm in the playground of Gloria Fuertes With the neighbors of Jose Maria Pemán Street, an hour later, at 9.30 pm there will be another in the garden of Los Pinos with the neighbors of Avenida Almirante Bastarreche.
The Municipal Plenary on October 27, 2015 unanimously approved by all political groups, the motion of the IU-Greens Municipal Group on the application of Law 52/2007, of December 26, recognizing and expanding rights And measures are established in favor of those who suffered persecution or violence during the Civil War and the Dictatorship, in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia.
Article 15.1 of this Law provides that "in the exercise of their powers, the Public Administrations shall take appropriate measures to remove shields, insignia, plaques and other objects or mentions commemorating the personal or collective exaltation of the military uprising, Of the Civil War and of the repression of the Dictatorship ".
In this process of democratic and institutional normalization in all public areas, in relation to a greater knowledge of our history and within the current framework of coexistence, different updates have been made in the streets of the populations, aimed at greater knowledge and Identity of its people with the names of its streets, and must gather a set of recognized merits that determine such honor.
A commission, designated for this purpose, carried out a street-level analysis to determine the names of streets or public spaces on which, according to the Law, it was mandatory to carry out research, documentation and argumentation and were to be complied with by the Mentioned Law, known as Historical Memory.
The result determined the name change of Avenida Almirante Bastarreche by the name that previously received: avenue of Cartagena, the withdrawal of its bust in the Garden of the Ducks to substitute it for a motive related to the water, as well as the withdrawal of His title of adopted son of Alhama.
He also proposed changing the name of López Pinto Street to San Andrés Street, given its location in this neighborhood.
Another of the suggested changes is that of the street Federico Servet by the name of the doctor Miguel Servet, looking for the similarity with the last name, as well as the street Jose Maria Pemán by street Camilo Jose Cela, the only Nobel Prize of Literature that does not have street In Alhama.
Finally the commission advised the change of name of the camping Navarro de Haro by its previous denomination: camping Espuña.
