On October 3, the mayor of Moratalla broke, unilaterally, surprise and without previous conversation, the agreement agreed with Ganar Moratalla-IU, which since June 2015 there is a joint government and in which for two years we have had the responsibility of the Mayor.
After two difficult years with constant obstacles and impediments of a part of the PSOE councilors towards the management of the government preventing an environment of cordiality and joint work, Ganar Moratalla-IU complies with the agreement, carrying out the transfer of the Mayor's Office.
In order to try to solve the existing problems and with the conviction that we would finish the marked route during the whole legislature, we held several follow-up meetings between 2015 and 2016. In May, the regional leadership of IURM met again with representatives of PSRM- PSOE of those who obtained the commitment that the agreements would be maintained in all the municipalities.
From Moratalla it was tried the negotiation of a protocol guaranteeing the autonomy and the responsible work of the councils corresponding to Ganar Moratalla-IU.
Later to the assumption of the mayoralty by the candidate of the PSOE, Jesus Amo, was again maintained contact to propitiate a meeting that allowed to solve the existing problems.
On the part of the mayor of Moratalla and its municipal group we have received the silence for answer.
The Socialist Party's break with the pact has no political arguments, and yet, to justify it, it has not hesitated to get on the personal disqualification cart that has been practicing the PP, with the inestimable support of the right- we are also being used in a similar way to discredit mayors and public offices of the PSOE.
The municipal group of IU-Greens and the local leadership of IU want to express our absolute rejection to the disloyalty of the now Mayor of Moratalla and also the silence of the Socialist Workers Party of the Region of Murcia, before the decision made by the mayor of Moratalla , Jesus Amo, a fact that endangers the possibility of progressive governments in this region.
We want to show the distrust of IU-Verdes de Alhama towards the PSRM as a regional organization and logically it is extensive to the local organization of the PSOE of Alhama.
Faced with this situation and bearing in mind the exercise of political responsibility that both organizations must face in order to dislodge the Popular Party from the institutions and build new governments of progress for 2019, from the commitment demanded by the citizens of this Region , showing that it is possible to make a policy with and for people, we state that:
It is essential to return the skills to the councilors of Ganar Moratalla.
IU-Greens of Alhama and its municipal group demand the public pronouncement of the PSOE of Alhama disapproving the action of the mayor of Moratalla.
We also request that you address the regional PSRM address so that it can also publicly disapprove.
We demand the socialist municipal group and the local organization to request the resignation of the mayor of Moratalla D. Jesus Amo Amo for breach of the pact of governance unilaterally.
