On Thursday, November 16, the Police Coordination Table against Gender Violence met.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Felipe García, chaired this meeting, which served to monitor the situation of women victims of gender violence in the municipalities of Alhama and Librilla and work for their protection and safety.
Among the functions of the Bureau is to analyze situations and local data on gender violence and encourage coordination between the Civil Guard, Local Police and CAVI.
The objective is to optimize protection actions and improve care for women in Alhama and Librilla who are in a violent situation by their partners or ex-partners.
In the meeting the actions carried out in 2017 were evaluated at the level of prevention and awareness in the municipality of Alhama;
the actions were also analyzed and coordination was encouraged for 2018.
The service of the CAVI (Center for Attention to the Victims of Gender Violence) of the Lower Guadalentín Region, with its PAE representation, offered to carry out training for the Local Police in order to improve the protocol of action of the security forces in collaboration with the Civil Guard.
The service for women victims of violence (PAE Specialized Service Point) is made up of three professionals: psychologist, social worker and legal counsel and is available to the public from Monday to Thursday morning and in the afternoon by appointment .
