This Sunday, December 3, the Volunteer Day was celebrated, where several NGOs and associations met in the Plaza de la Constitución to show the residents of Alhama the work they do, in addition to the dissemination and dissemination of works and activities that develop each of them.
The event was attended by the mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, the Councilor for Civil Protection, Felipe García, the Councilor for Health, Mariola Guevara and the Councilor for Associations, Eva María Sánchez.
The participating associations were Cáritas, AECC, Manos Unidas, Red Cross, Civil Protection, Adam, Hospitality of Lourdes Voades, Archicofradía Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, Valle de Leyva Scout Group, Proayuda Alimentaria Association A little is Much, Fundación Francisco Munuera Martínez, Asociación of fathers and mothers of the Las Salinas Day Center, D'Genes Association, Cavalli Foundation, Prosauces Las Flotas Association, Avicena Association, Municipal Volunteer Service and Psychosocial Service.
The day featured numerous activities such as health workshops, badges and popcorn and a cartoon photocall.
Several members of the Asociación Animunis made games of balloon twisting, face painting and stilts, among others.
The Valle de Leyva Scout Group also participated with several activities.
The event concluded with the performance of an emergency drill, which had two actors and volunteers, in which a driver simulated suffering a heart attack while driving.
In it we could see the intervention and coordination of Civil Protection Alhama de Murcia, Red Cross Alhama, Local Police and Civil Guard to serve a person.
The volunteers distributed 400 cypresses with the motto "plant a tree", as a symbolic gesture and solidarity with the fires that occurred in Galicia in October that devastated many hectares of forest and in which at least four people died.
The objective was to raise awareness about the care of forests, as well as being a support to promote environmental volunteering.
The City wants to thank the participation of all organizations, volunteers and security bodies that have participated in the Day of Volunteering 2017.
