The plastic artist Andrés Guillén, better known as Murfy, has presented his new mural, located on Avenida Antonio Fuertes, in front of the garden of El Palmeral.
This work is added to the project that was presented at the beginning of summer and that ended a few weeks ago to decorate the waste room of the Plaza de Abastos, with the aim of improving the image of public spaces in our municipality.
In contrast to the mural of the Plaza de Abastos, tricolor, linear and representative of the products sold in that space, the work of the Antonio Fuertes avenue presents a more pictorial design and takes as a reference a characteristic place of Alhama as the Valley of Leiva, within the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña.
The artist took about a month to make this mural, which has generated a window to give way to the landscape that is shown, as well as producing a focus point that shows depth.
About the work, Murfy has expressed that "it is a privileged site, and painting this mural is to put a turning point, to make people aware that we have this type of view in the area and that we must take care of it".
The design and execution of both murals is 6,618.70 euros.
The Councilor for Culture and Heritage, Alicia Martinez, has called on the residents of Alhama to make available to local artists those walls they wish to decorate, through the Councilor for Urban Quality, Pedro Lopez, or the City Council.
For the next year, the Department of Culture has prepared two workshops, one for children and one for adults, on mural painting, which Murfy will give.
