The Department of Infrastructure and Public Services has undertaken these days the improvement of El Romeral road, paving a surface of 2,610 square meters.
The action covers a total length of 580 linear meters, in which the road has been equipped with a width of 4.5 meters.
In order to condition the road, a layer of asphalt rolling has been applied by means of a so-called three-coat treatment or Triple Surface Treatment, which consists of applying three layers of aggregates (gravel) of different thickness with binder (asphalt).
The formula is used in this type of open road floors, more porous, increasing its resistance and durability against traffic.
This solution will facilitate the passage of vehicles through it and will protect it from the runoff caused after the rains.
Previously, an artificial gravel base has been built and a reinforced concrete slab 46 meters long and 4.5 meters wide has been built to reinforce the road in the section in which it crosses a trough.
In this same area, a breakwater wall and a concrete gutter have been built.
An existing enclosure with hot-dip galvanized single-stranded mesh has been replaced and vertical road marking has been installed.
Finally, the placement of a bionda-type metallic barrier of 32 meters in length is planned to ensure circulation, thus avoiding the possibility of falls where there is greater unevenness.
Although the expected term of the work was 1 month, the entire action was carried out in 15 days.
The total amount has been close to 40,000 euros.
