The City Council of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Urban Quality, has acquired a new LED module for the MUPI (Urban Furniture Information Point) located next to the tourist office.
The support where it is located was installed years ago through an advertising company within a contract for various improvements in the municipality, becoming the property of the City Council a few months ago.
The device is a double-sided red outdoor single-color LED screen, with dimensions of 1.10 cm wide by 33.5 cm high and a resolution of 16x64 pixels, designed to insert information of interest to residents and visitors.
It allows to visualize personalized texts through a simple programming with all kinds of visual effects and animations destined to draw the attention of the people that are within their range of vision.
It has a large memory to store messages for a limited time and advanced calendar, time and temperature options.
The texts can be programmed and visualized for any day of the year and any time, with a multitude of configurable effects, such as the way to appear and disappear, the speed, the type of letter, double line, repetitions, etc.
Text writing is optimized to be easy and intuitive allowing you to view messages in real time.
In addition, you have the option of inserting simple images designed by the manufacturer that help to understand the message.
The screen has an automatic and manual brightness regulator that allows you to choose the intensity percentage (between 0 and 100%) day and night.
This allows a better visualization during the central hours of the day and reduce the brightness to 25% at night to avoid flashes to pedestrians and drivers.
The connection of this module is made through the data network and has software that allows access to the device from a PC via TCP / IP.
It is powered by the electrical network and its consumption varies between zero and 150 watts (100% intensity).
The module involved an investment of 1,300 euros (VAT included) and the installation was carried out by the municipal brigade.
It has a warranty of 2 years of repair and maintenance.
