The delegate of the Government and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment celebrate this new recognition, which adds to the other six regional holidays that have this condition
At present there are nine parties in the Region of Murcia declared of International Tourist Interest
The Secretary of State for Tourism has declared the Los Mayos party, of Alhama de Murcia, of National Tourist Interest after studying the timely documentation in which this honorary title was requested.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Pastora Asián, has communicated the decision to the Government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, and to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdrán, who have celebrated this recognition in a meeting held at the headquarters of the Government Delegation.
With the addition of Los Mayos de Alhama Murcia, there are already seven locations in the Region of Murcia whose festivals have the status of National Tourist Interest.
The Secretary of State for Tourism considers that, after studying the documentation presented, its significance and scope as a tourist attraction has been verified and it has also considered its antiquity and traditional roots.
