It is planned to run in three phases and will affect the traffic of the municipality, since it is a main artery used by buses and numerous citizens as a way of entry and exit to Murcia or to the center of the municipality.
The budget is 252,000 euros.
It has been decreed the change of use and the signaling of certain routes temporarily, enabling them in two directions of circulation.
Specifically, and initially, will be the following:
- Capitán Portola Street, in the stretch between General García Díaz Street and España Avenue, is enabled in a double sense of circulation.
- Hernán Cortés street, in the stretch between General García Díaz street and España Avenue, is enabled in a double sense of circulation.
José Alfonso Toral, Chief Local Police Officer, has explained the new reconfiguration of traffic, as well as the measures that will be carried out in terms of road safety.
"In the avenue Spain has started phase one, which runs from the intersection from Avenida Antonio Fuertes to Isla de la Gomera street, in which section traffic is completely cut off, the streets that access that first phase, as Captain Portola and Hernán Cortés have been enabled in two ways to facilitate the departure of the neighbors towards General García Díaz Street. "
Toral has highlighted the importance of signals, in order to give the maximum possible information to the residents of Alhama and its visitors in the access to the city center.
"If they come from the Antonio Fuertes avenue, informative signs of circumstantial signs have been placed in the whole lane".
Access to the city center must be made through Cartagena Avenue, Juan Carlos I Avenue and Rambla Don Diego.
In addition to those informative posters that are placed throughout the coming Ginés Campos and Avenida Antonio Fuertes, as well as the entrance by the Cartagena road, others have been placed at the accesses from Sierra Espuña. "
The Chief Police Officer has explained that it is intended to distribute traffic through the rest of the main arteries of the municipality.
"At the intersection on Avenida Cartagena with Avenida Juan Carlos I, as it is the area of maximum affluence, there are already more restrictive signs of prohibited access to certain streets of the avenue Spain, as well as the adjacent streets, which in phase two and phase three will be cut. "
From Local Police, the actions that are going to carry out the agents in the area will focus on controlling that the circumstantial signaling is correctly placed and check that the arteries of passage are free of obstacles.
Toral has appealed to the neighbors "so that as far as possible try not to leave the vehicles in double row and park as correctly as possible, as the incidents that can generate would be remarkable."
