The two parties agree to facilitate access to employment of users of the Municipal Psychosocial Care Center through the Labor Insertion Service of the Region Mental Health Federation of Murcia
The City Council of Alhama de Murcia and the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia have signed today a collaboration agreement to improve the employability of the users of the Labor Insertion Service, from which the members of the Municipal Psychosocial Care Center.
With this agreement, which began with the visit of the team of professionals of the Federation on March 20, the City Council will deal with the selection processes of Alhama so that the Service of Insertion defines the candidates that best fit with that offer of employment.
The mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, and the president of the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia, Delia Topham, have been responsible for signing the agreement, which have been accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services, Felipe García, the federation's coordinator, Rosa Garrigós and Laura Piqueras, member of the Federation's Labor Insertion Service.
The agreement establishes that once the hiring is done, an adaptation to the job position will be produced with the necessary follow-ups by the Insertion Service to the user and the company, who will have an agile and efficient communication with the Federation's labor preparer to resolve any question, in coordination with the Social Services center of Alhama.
In October 2017, during the presentation of the exhibition Zangamanga 8, the councilor Felipe García already anticipated the intention of his area to seek this framework of collaboration.
"We will start walking the path and as a first step, we will request information and advice from the Autonomous Community, as well as the Federation of Associations of Relatives and Persons with Mental Illness (Feafes) so that users of our center can join the program Euroemployment of the European Social Fund, which develops the Murcian Health Service, "he said at the time.
The City Council and the Federation agree that employment is the best tool to achieve full social inclusion of all citizens, also for people with mental health problems, who may have serious difficulties in entering the labor market, so that It is necessary to sensitize businessmen and society in general that these people have, as all of them, great capacities that they can develop.
