The mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, and the Councilor for Health, Mariola Guevara, met this morning in Murcia with the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, and the general director of Health Assistance, Roque Martinez, to address various issues in of health that affect the municipality.
At the meeting the municipal officials have transferred the requests they made to the Area I Manager - on which our health center depends - on February 12, as well as on March 7 to the general assistant director of the Murcian Health Service ( SMS), Josefina Marín, together with the heads of the health center and the SUAP of Alhama.
As a main element, they have been interested in requesting the transfer of the emergency service to the previous Social Services facilities (old ambulatory building).
A procedure that has been paralyzed since 2015 and that would involve the expansion of the current health center to locate the pediatric area where the emergencies are currently located.
The change comes conditioned to the necessities that the professionals of this service demand for the correct adaptation of the space, since the previous project did not fulfill the requirements.
Both the Mayor and Mariola Guevara have explained to the Councilor the need and the work that is being done from four of the municipalities that make up the Sierra Espuña Tourist Association: Alhama, Totana, Aledo and Librilla, so that there is a direct transport of patients to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital and the San Andrés health center.
For this purpose, a study focused on the family reconciliation of patients is being carried out, for which they asked the Murciano Health Service for a history of the users who visit these two centers.
Some data that will facilitate from the counseling itself.
In addition, they have requested monitoring at the health center in Alhama from Monday to Friday during the consultation hours - something that they will take into account - as well as protection measures through screens for reception workers.
Regarding the request for a pharmaceutical kit for Condado de Alhama, approved by the municipal Plenary last summer, "the City Council received the response from the Health Ministry with a series of aspects to be taken into account, and at this moment we only need to find a suitable place with direct access from the outside so that it is not necessary to enter the urbanization site, "says Guevara.
Finally, and also at the proposal of the Plenary, the Counselor has requested a medical office to provide coverage to the district of Las Cañadas and Condado de Alhama, a service that they had years ago and that disappeared.
For this, they have informed him about the census data and the growth of Condado during the summer months.
A request that you will also study.
