The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, said today that research is the "key" to continue leading the indices of agricultural competitiveness in the markets and modernize agriculture "in the current scenario."
The owner of Agriculture and Water in Alhama was speaking at the close of the 43th edition of the exhibition 'table grapes and Guadalentín Lower agricultural products', which includes a sample of more than 300 fruit and vegetable varieties in the area.
These products have been transferred for about a hundred farmers and the Instituto Murciano Research and Agricultural Development and Food (Imide), an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
The exhibition has welcomed new varieties of wine grapes, seedless table grapes, buts Cehegin, tomatoes, citrus and a wide range of organic products of Lower Guadalentín.
Antonio Cerda said that with this exhibition, farmers "make known the different varieties they get from their crops and the innovations that are incorporated into the market."
Agriculture responsible for the regional government said that "we are incorporating the results of knowledge in agriculture," which is said, "improving competitiveness, always ensure food security and to hold new holes in markets that are not yet conquered ".
The Minister of Agriculture and Water requested that "no further hampering the work of the farmer," calling it "a future imperative if we want to continue eating healthy foods and healthy."
