The Mayor of Alhama, José Espadas, received this morning the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, together with the managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS), Jane Brown who visited the rehabilitation work that the regional government is carrying out in 50 houses of public promotion of the municipality, within the Repair Plan.
Swords has expressed his satisfaction with this type of projects that "result in improved quality of life for residents with fewer resources."
José Ballesta explained that "water-saving measures in homes of regional public park will save 50 million gallons of water annually," adding that "we also are carrying out works to adapt the housing needs older people or have mobility problems, in order to ensure their accessibility and autonomy. "
The performances range from the repair of access to different housing and comprehensive rehabilitation of the facades, to improve the accessibility and the installation of water saving systems.
Repair Plan for the municipality has made a full investment in the region of 240,000 euros invested in the repair of three groups of Public Advocacy Housing: Plaza Vieja (8 homes), Ginés Campos (9 units) and the 33 houses located front of the new Children's Traffic Park, Barrio de los Dolores.
During the visit also featured the Town Planning and Culture, Juan Romero who has taken the presence of the representative of the regional government to show the Cultural Center Plaza Vieja and the frescoes of Aurelio de la main entrance and halls of Library.
Also present were the councilors of Social Policy, Fina Garcia and Women, Soledad Tudela, and the mayor of Local Development, Jose Lopez.
