This material is currently recycled and not just in Europe are sent to landfill more than 120,000 tons
The Director General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, Francisco Espejo, today stressed the importance of the recovery of waste as resources and as a "source of income and job creation" on the occasion of the inauguration of the new plant Recycling Befesa fiberglass plastics in Alhama de Murcia.
Mirror noted that such plants studies implemented technology R & D + i "represent major progress for the waste sector to make them recoverable."
In this respect the example of waste plastics in the automotive sector, such as bumpers and dashboards.
The manager concluded that the installation autonomy in our country of this type of pioneering technologies "makes the region the spearhead of a newborn sector, such as environmental and industrial use of waste."
Befesa Plastics has developed in recent years a process for reusing waste glass fiber material now being recycled and not just in Europe that are sent to landfill more than 120,000 tons, representing an environmental problem hitherto unsolved .
Thanks to this new process of recycling, waste fiberglass are incorporated into the polymer matrix and chemically bonded to it, under a specific formulation.
The plant will also allow the recycling of parts from vehicles out of use by incorporating various regrind from automotive and recycled raw materials.
This new process opens a real possibility of reducing the short term, and disposal, long term deposition of fiberglass waste in landfills in the EU.
It also improves the sustainability of the sector reinforced thermoplastics and its application areas, which currently requires increasing the proportion of recycled plastic raw materials and technically competitive in their end products.
