In this situation, the City of Alhama, through the Department of Parks and Gardens, has taken steps injecting insecticide municipal palms located in New Espuña as pest prevention.
Due to the emergence of the first cases of weevil and palm trees with village of town and the proximity of these four unique Canary Island palms to sites of infection, as is the crossing of Ral, the onset of good weather and the speed with which moves this pest, especially destructive in areas of the Levant, the Department of Parks and Gardens decided to apply a first preventive treatment with a very effective against the weevil applied with a spray gun with compressed air.
In addition to the insecticide, were injected nutrients and fungicide.
The complete treatment consists of three applications and the next application will be held in late June and the third in October.
The specialists understand that with these three treatments are covered warm months, as the weevil has hence the flight time, multiplying the risk of contagion.
The treatment is being developed by the company Rowan Forest and Landscape Services Ltd. as part of the proposed improvements for the maintenance of the municipal gardens.
